Coach Eldon Hoy Eldon Hoy is a 1988 graduate of Lock Haven University, where he earned a BS in Mathematics Secondary Education with a minor in Computer Programming. While at Lock Haven, he met his wife, Lori, who was a player and then assistant coach for the Lady Eagles basketball team. He has a son (Zac, 16) and a daughter (Kira, 13) and he and his family reside in Mifflinburg, PA, where Eldon has taught mathematics for the past 22 years.
Coach Hoy directed the Mifflinburg girls’ basketball team for seven years (1989-1995), managing five winning seasons and leading the Lady Wildcats to their only state playoff appearance in 1990. After that, he took over the reigns of the boys’ program and has been coaching the Wildcats for the last 13 seasons. His squads have captured three league championships while attaining three 20+ win seasons and a career .670 winning percentage. His 2002 squad finished the regular season undefeated and garnered the Harrisburg Patriot News AAA #1 state ranking for six straight weeks.
In the AAU arena, Coach Hoy has directed a JB Hoops squad for the past three years, leading his teams to numerous tournament championships along the east coast. The JB Hoops program has attended top-notch national tournaments and Coach Hoy’s teams have always competed well – including a Platinum division finish in the 2008 Nike Main Event in Las Vegas, NV.
